Supergirl and Ms. Marvel in "A Danvers Dies This Day!"

The Danvers Twins are another pairing that I like to revisit from time to time on the blog - this marks their fifth cover together.

They had robot problems in Issue #1414

They were at odds with one another  in Issue #763...

They played a trick on the world in Issue #520...

...and they were first revealed to be sisters way back in Issue #152

Decreed by whom? A Roman gladiator version of the Black Racer?! Or is this guy supposed to be a melanistic successor to Ronan the Accuser (the Kree's answer to Judge Dredd)?

I often wonder why her Silver Age Earth-2 counterpart couldn't have just been ret-conned as the post-Crisis daughter of Superman's Uncle Nim-El (Jor-El's identical twin brother)? It would certainly have spared one or two generations of fanboys a lot of needless headaches.

So what would a half-Kryptonian, half-Kree have for powers? Sounds like powerful combination which may not be as vulnerable to red sun or kryptonite like pure Kryptonians.

Good question, Glenn! Makes me wonder if, in the STF-verse, the Supreme Intelligence arranged for some involuntary interbreeding. To try and get his people past their "evolutionary dead end" (as he so often referred to the blue-skinned Kree of the Silver Age)!
